I2I

Activities

1.   My Social Start-up:

Ambassadors formed groups and selected “Social Problem Cards,” taking on roles such as CEO, Marketing, Finance, and           R&D to simulate a real social enterprise.

Outcome: Business thinking, social responsibility, teamwork.

2.  60-Second Challenge:

In this individual activity, participants identified a ground-level problem and proposed a simple or hypothetical solution             within 60 seconds.

        Outcome: Time efficiency, critical thinking.

3.  If I Were the Founder:

Ambassadors proposed meaningful social changes in existing start-ups. Example: “If I were the founder of Zomato, I                  would mandate the use of sustainable containers.”

Outcome: Social innovation and creative problem-solving.

4.  Developing an Ecosystem:

Instead of mere donations, ambassadors created a self-sustaining model by collecting pens from the team and                          distributing them to underprivileged individuals to sell.

Outcome: Practical understanding of social enterprise dynamics.

5.  Publicity Activity:

Ambassadors were trained in publicity methods and applied them during Mindspark, COEP Tech’s annual tech fest. Their          enthusiasm and confidence stood out during public interactions.

Outcome: Overcoming stage fear, public engagement skills.

6.  Calling Pitch:

Ambassadors were trained to communicate i2i’s vision effectively over calls — learning how to deliver concise, engaging,          and persuasive pitches.

Outcome: Communication skills, persuasion, professional interaction.

Apno Wali Diwali

Objective: To promote local artisans and small vendors by encouraging students and participants to support them during the Diwali festival.

Overview: Ignited Innovators of India (i2i) launched a social initiative titled “Apno Wali Diwali” with the aim of spreading joy, hope, and community spirit during the festive season. The campaign encouraged students and i2i participants to buy diyas, lanterns, candles, or any handcrafted items directly from local vendors and artisans, thereby supporting their livelihoods.

Activity Details:

Participants were asked to:

  1. Purchase a diya, lantern, or handcrafted item from a local vendor.
  2. Capture a photo or short video while purchasing the item.
  3. Light the diya/lantern and share their moments on Instagram, tagging @i2i and using the hashtags #ApnoWaliDiwali and #i2i202526.

This initiative emphasized the message that “a small act of kindness can brighten someone’s life.” The campaign connected the spirit of Diwali with social responsibility, reminding everyone that each diya sold represents a dream, a hope, and the hard work of someone in our community.

Impact:

  • Promoted awareness and empathy toward local artisans and vendors.
  • Encouraged sustainable and community-based celebration practices.
  • Strengthened the social engagement of i2i participants through real-world impact.
  • Created an emotional and positive festive atmosphere across the COEP community.

Participation:

The activity was made mandatory for all teams shortlisted for Phase II of the i2i Techno-Social Competition 2025–26. Participants shared their posts online, helping spread the message to a wider audience.
